On October 1, 2020, the first CALMustahan session was conducted at Baliwag Business Center which was actively participated by the committed Baliwag Inter-agency Task Force (IATF). CALMustahan aims to provide psychosocial support to individuals, frontliners, families and communities to facilitate resilience after an emergency or a critical event through online, phone calls, SMS or face to face.
Mr. Gerard Tolentino, SWO III discussed about mental health and psychosocial support while Ms. Mercy Ventura, CAO III highlighted the significance of self-care and resiliency. In between fruitful discussions, CALMustahan is filled with group workshops and fun activities to keep the participants thrilled and engaged. At the last part of the session, Ms. Jospehine Lopez, MSWDO passionately talked about the meditation for healing not only to reduce their stress, pain and anxiety but also to enhance their peace, perception, self-concept and well-being.
Mayor Ferdie Estrella also expressed his desire for the success and sustainability of this program to prevent distress and suffering developing into something more severe, promote effective coping strategies, help all baliwagenyos to feel calm and to resume their normal lives and meet community-identified needs.
