The victim was driving his Toyota Fortuner along Plaza Naning at the intersection of Cagayan Valley Road when the two suspects, riding their motorcycle, started shooting the victim, killing him instantly. The suspects fled the scene.
PNP is presently conducting investigation and possible motives behind the crime.

Meanwhile, Baliwag Mayor Ferdie Estrella ordered PNP Baliwag Police Lt. Col. Jayson San Pedro to intensify manhunt operations against the suspects and increase police visibility to avoid such incidents from happening again. According to Mayor Estrella, “one of the reasons why Baliwag comes strong in attaining its cityhood status is for police allocation. A city has a minimum allocation of 100 while a municipality has lesser police. We have even more banks than policemen. However, I am still confident that our men is still capable in ensuring the safety of the general public. The way it operated, it seems that the suspects are non-residents as well. I am confident that our men will be able to resolve this matter in no time and bring justice to the victim. I offer my sympathies and prayers to the bereaved family.”
