December 13, 2019 – The heads of the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the municipalities and cities of Bulacan held a benchmarking activity on the in-house Electronic Business Permit and Licensing System and Business One-Stop Shop of the Municipality of Baliwag.
Baliwag has hosted a series of bench marking activities under the administration of Mayor Ferdinand V. Estrella which included other local government units, educational institutions and also organizations from other countries. LGU leaders, school administrators, student leaders and officers of several organizations usually look at Baliwag’s best practices in governance, social services, solid waste management and its reforms in the business permitting and licensing process.
As for the business permit and licensing system, Municipal Information and Communications Technology Office Head Brainard Ardona explained how the EBPLS works. This is an in-house application developed by the municipal staff of the said department. He also highlighted its features such as having online application and accepting online payments, integration of the barangay business clearance, barangay location clearance and fire clearances. It is also ready for the inclusion of the application of the building permit and occupancy permit.
Bench marking activity on the Business One-Stop Shop which is located at the Baliwag Business Center, Brgy. Pagala, included process flow, digitized advertisements and promotions, queuing system, organizational structure, monitoring system, implementation protocols among others.
On the said benchmarking meeting, Baliwag BPLO Head Jose Nilo Fernando welcomed the participants in behalf of Mayor FVE.
The president of the Liga ng mga Licensing Oficers ng Bulacan, Inc. Adriano Mendiola gave his message of gratitude to the Municipality of Baliwag for the warm welcome and its hospitality to the officers and members of the association. He also commended the EBPLS and BOSS of Baliwag which are entirely both a breakthrough in the ease of doing business.
