Harvesting the fruits of its labor, the municipality of Baliwag through the leadership of Mayor Ferdie V. Estrella, was recognized for being the 2018 Top performer in the Environmental Compliance Award (ECA) – Municipal Category. The said LGU received a plaque of recognition and a cheque amounting to Php 200,000.00. Awarding rite was held on April 1, 2019 at Baliwag Climate Change Center, Pagala, Baliwag Bulacan. The Regional Manila BAYani Top Performer Awards is in line with the Manila Bay Clean-Up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Project (MBCURP) Compliance Assessment (MBCURP) held last year wherein Baliwag garnered a total of 96.30%, the highest score in the region III. Means of verifications (MOVs) used for the said assessment includes different categories namely: Liquid Waste Management, Solid Waste Management, Informal Settler Families and IEC & Institutional Arrangement. As of now, Baliwag is just waiting for the result of another assessment last March 21, 2019 as their entry for the national level.
Kudos to all the men and women behind this success. This award compensates the extra effort for a job well done of the municipality, different departments and private institutions spearheaded by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO). It only proves that the municipality of Baliwag is indeed committed to pursue delivering Serbisyong may Malasakit para sa Kalikasan. Once again, congratulations!
