Baliwag actively supports the “Battle for Manila Bay”

As part of the environmental advocacy to strengthen the support with rehabilitation of Manila Bay entitled as “Battle for Manila Bay”, the municipality of Baliwag through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) is conducting weekly clean-up drive in their 27 barangays.

The said clean-up drive is in line with the mandates from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) stating that “Local Government Units (LGUs) and barangays must organize clean-up drives in their localities such as, but not limited to coastal areas and/or inland water systems, on a weekly basis commencing on January 27, 2019.

Clean-up drive is the chosen course of action in battling this issue for Manila Bay. The collective efforts and commitments of the barangay volunteers and the locality served as a turning point to act on different capacities in cleaning, preservation and rehabilitation of the Manila Bay.
