BTECH – In a statement, Baliwag Polytechnic College rebuked a post from a troll and bogus facebook page Baliwag Supporters for Transparency. According to Baliwag Polytechnic College, “these utter lies and maliscious posts must not be given any attention at all. Mayor Ferdie Estrella had attended invitations during commencement exercises, recognition day and meetings of the Board of Trustees. To say that, it was Mr. Tagle, former BTECH President and now Municipal Administrator attended meetings for him was simply a dumbfounding claim. It is garbage, to simply put it. The facebook page is not equal to our shared values as it is nothing but lies, an antonym of transparency.”
In addition to the statement that was released by the college in both English and Filipino, “ito ay kasinungalingan, malisyoso, at walang basehan sapagkat, sa aming talaan ay hindi kailanman nakadalo o naimbitahan na dumalo si G. Enrique Tagle, dating pangulo at ngayon ay Pamabayang Tagapangasiwa sa pagpupulong. Siya ay naimbitahan lamang sa isang okasyon ng Baliwag Polytechnic College sa Baliwag Star Arena upang magsalita patungkol sa lokal na ekonomiya ng Baliwag. Ang mga ganitong pahayag ay hindi dapat bigyan ng kahit maikling atensiyon sapagkat ito ay basura.”
In an interview by Baliwag News Online, Mr. Tagle shrugged off the post saying, “si Mayor Ferdie ay nakatuon sa mga mas mahahalagang bagay. Madaming trabaho kaya sana let us just focus on how we can make Baliwag great. Huwag na sana tayong magpapadala sa mga ganyang intriga. Let us keep ourselves in the business of governance because as we speak, there are more competitive cities and municipalities working tirelessly to attract investors for jobs; achieving their targets for service efficiency and solidifying a singular direction for the government and its people. Sa totoo lang, I have never set foot at BTECH since I resigned in 2013. Inappoint akong concurrent sandali noong July 1, 2016 pero hindi ako nakapunta man lang doon at hanggang na appoint na din si Atty. Donesa na pangulo. Si Atty Donesa, bukod sa isang abogado ay isang Academician kung kaya’t walang pangamba si Mayor Ferdie na isusulong niya kung ano ang tama para sa dalubhasaan. Alam mo, ang dami nilang mahuhusay sa BTECH para makisawsaw pa ako… si Dr Tiburcio and Atty. Romano and the administrators. Also, Mayor Ferdie and I strongly support academic freedom in order for the students to exercise critical thinking something that we need very badly these days,” he ended.
BTECH on Its Way to Institutional Independence
On a lighter note, Baliwag Polytechnic College will finally get partial independence as the Sangguniang Bayan ordained ameding the charter of the Baliwag Polytechnic College. The move was indorsed by Mayor Ferdie Estrella in order to correct the seemingly lack of funds earmarked
As such, the college will be prepared to separate and stand on its own.
BTECH remains to be one of the best performing school for Education and Accountancy. Its passing rate is always higher than the national passing percentage.
5% of Baliwag Revenue Subsidy
Also for the first time, Mayor Ferdie approved the said appropration to allow the school to invest necessary capital outlay for its development.
On two occasions, Mayor Ferdie announced that classrooms in BTECH will be airconditioned for a more conducive learning environment.
