Baliwagenya Doctors at the Helm of the Bulacan Medical Society

Baliwag, Bulacan – The non-stop rains and thunderstorms did not deter the doctors, not even the President of the Philippine Medical Association, Dr. Joselito Santiago. Presidents of Component Organizations including Dr. Reynaldo Castro, Dr. Alicia Villacrusis and Dr. Valones were all in attendance. The incoming officers headed by Baliwagenya Doctor, Adelene Gatmaitan opted to have Velton Lim of Bo Sanchez Inspirstional Speakers Team.

Outgoing President, Dr. Marietta Katipunan was beaming the whole night, looking very accomplished and relieved to finish the term and pass the baton to another Baliwagenya.

Governor Willy Alvarado was invited to attend but could not make it as he was still abroad with his other siblings on a peronal trip, as conveyed by his representatives. Son, Dr. Jose Sy-Alvarez and daughter, Ma. Rosario Sy-Alvarez represented the Governor.

Mayor Ferdie

Meanwhile, Mayor Ferdie Estrella was also invited but was on a trip to visit father, former Mayor Romy Estrella who is undergoing treatment at Fuda University Hospital.

Municipal Administrator Enrique Tagle delivered a speech opened his speech by apologizing for Mayor Estrella in jest: “ihingi ko daw siya ng tawad sa inyo at sumakit ang ulo niya sa kakasagot buong lingo sa mga bata kung may pasok o wala.” The crowd jeered. That week, heavy monsoon forced some LGUs to cancel but those did not were criticized by students.

MA Tagle congratulated the Bulacan Medical Society for their contributions in partnering with the government in meeting the sustainable development goals and the vision for a healthy people living in a sustinable environment under a proactive governance. He also propounded on Baliwag’s achievements in health. Baliwag is ranked no. 1 in health by the Provincial Health Office while, nutrition moved to number rank 4th from the last spot.

Incoming President

Dr. Adelene Gatmaitan took the helm of the society promising to incorporate non-medical lectures and seminars for doctors to give them a break from their normal routine work.
