Baliwag BPLO Undergoes Onsite Assessment for the Implementation of Streamlining Program for the Issuance of Mayor’s Permit


April 17, 2018 – The Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of the Municipality of Baliwag, had its onsite validation on the implementation of the revised Business Permit and Licensing System (BPLS) by the Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation, Inc. evaluation team held at the Mayor’s Board Room, Baliwag Municipal Hall.

The said assessment aims to gauge the compliance of the LGUs with the guidelines set forth by the JMC 01 s. 2016 by DILG-DTI-DICT in the implementation of the streamlining process in applying for business permit.

The criteria for the assessment entailed four components: (1)Simplification and Standardization of BPLS for New Registration and Renewals; (2) Automation of BPLS; (3) Improving Customer Relations and (4) Institutionalization of Reforms.

The evaluators for the said activity were Ms. Lota Yasa, representative from Department of Trade and Industry; Ms. Rose Jumaquio of the Department of Interior and Local Government and Ms. Mary Angeline Sebastian from Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office.

Mayor Ferdie Estrella led the delegates of the Baliwag LGU with the following Department Heads and Staff which included Municipal Administrator Enrique Tagle, Chief of Staff Melanie Cruz, Municipal Treasurer Martiniano Javier, BPLO Head Henry T. Cruz, MICTO Head Brainard Ardona, Rodrigo Torres of BPLO, MLGOO Jayfie Nasarro and Investment Promotions Officer Karen Joy Rivera who presented a briefer about business statistics in the municipality.

As for the Municipality of Baliwag gaining high scores in four components and passing the Provincial validation, it will be recommended and endorsed to Regional evaluation team for further assessment.

The most outstanding LGUs which have exemplary mechanisms in the streamlined issuance of Mayor’s Permit under the four components will be recognized by the CLGCFI in June of the current year.
