The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Baliwag spearheaded by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) underwent on-site assessment for Manila Bay Clean-Up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Project (MBCURP) Compliance on March 15, 2018 held at Mayor’s Board Room, Municipality of Baliwag, Bulacan.
The said assessment aims to assess the compliance of LGUs with the guidelines indicated in Manila Bay Clean-Up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Project. Also, identifying the gaps and limitations of LGU thus provide recommendations for improvements to sustain its effective implementation.
To monitor the MBCURP compliance of LGU, an assessment form was used by the evaluators using the following means of verifications (MOVs): Liquid Waste Management, Solid Waste Management, Informal Settler Families and IEC & Institutional Arrangement. The said assessment team is composed of regional inter-agency committee (RIAC) from respective agencies such as DILG, DENR, EMB, NEDA and DPWH.
After the evaluation, recommendations and suggestions were given by the evaluators for the LGU’s improvement and the municipality of Baliwag is looking forward for the evaluation’s result.
