Baliwag Treasury Implements Computerization Program


BALIWAG, BULACAN – After years and years of waiting, finally, the Office of the Municipal Treasurer will be begin to implement an honest to goodness computerization program upon the directives of Mayor Ferdinand V. Estrella.

Last year, the computerization project sought by Mayor Ferdie started with the Business Permits and Licensing Office. It then began to invest on local and wide area network, hardware and building its security and firewall.  Also, last year, the Baliwag Wifi Project or more popularly called as Baliwag WiFVE was launched to 18 barangays. Baliwag is the first and perhaps, the only Bulacan town that can boast of free wifi in most of its barangays. This year, Baliwag will install wifi in the remaining nine barangays to complete the project. 

With the computerization of the treasury systems, including accounting and budget, the finance cluster will be able to improve its public finance disclosure and transparency improving its PFMAT evaluation. 

Meanwhile, Municipal Administrator Enrique Tagle apologized to the public if they experienced some slowing down in the service especially with the influx of cedula applicants and business permits. In a few months, our cashiers will be able to master the system and work faster. Also, the Treasury Department, Ground and Second Floors of the Main Building will be renovated and fully airconditioned to ensure comfort of our taxpayers. And soon, Baliwag will have its open its Baliwag Business Center, a one stop-shop facility where common business start-up business related applications, payment transactions, sme desk, courier service and e-commerce marketplace desk shall be available to help our SME’s expand their market.
