SMCB’s “Sa Kabila” hailed as POPCOM AHD Film Festival Regional Champion for the 3rd time


SMCB has done it again for the third time following “Kanlungan” and “Malaya”! As the school’s official entry to the local POPCOM’s “Reel Life Documentaries”, and advocacy video making contest started in 2015 in celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan. With this year’s theme “Kabataan para sa Kinabukasan”, the short film entitled “Sa Kabila” gained first place  in the Adolescent Health and Development Film Festival 2017 held at Good Shepherd Hall in San Fernando, Pampanga last November 23.  As such, “Sa Kabila” will represent Region 3 in the national Film Fest.  SMCB goes National level for the third time bringing honor and pride not only for the town of Baliuag but also for the entire Region III.

With the theme “Post-Millennial Filipinos: Renewed Hopes vs. Risk (Mass Media and ICT Exposure, Non-Sexual Behaviors and Early Sexual Initiation of the youth in Central Luzon)” the cast and crew won a total of 13 awards namely:

  • 1st runner up Best Cinematography
  • 2nd runner up Best Actor in Supporting Role

Aside from the trophies and certificates, the group brought home cash prize of Php 27,000.
