DENR Secretary Cimatu visits the Baliwag Climate Change Center

As part of his visit to the province of Bulacan, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Roy Cimatu visited the Baliwag Climate Change Center last September 28. Secretary Cimatu was warmly welcomed by Mayor Ferdie Estrella, together with MENRO Edgar Luna, introducing him to the climate change center of the town. It is located at DRT Highway, Pagala, Baliwag, Bulacan.

Formerly, the CC Center building was used as an iceplant, storage hall and boxing arena and now the first Climate Change Center established in the region catering the local climate change commitments of the Municipality of Baliwag. The CC Center is divided into different sections such as Audio Visual Room, Eco-Library, Climate Change Museum and Eco-Livelihood Training Center.

The Center is expected to consolidate and coordinate plans and programs to be implemented in line with environmental protection. Also, it will serve as the center for research, exhibit, livelihood, information dissemination and other matters addressing concerns on climate change. Opening of the Baliwag Climate Change Center is on November and it is under the supervision of MENRO Baliwag.
