Many postpartum women are not aware of their risk for pregnancy weeks after delivery. Though they may want to either space or limit subsequent births and would like to use contraception, mothers are often busy taking care of their new babies and their families. Some may not be sure what method to use and where to avail of Family Planning (FP) services. Some may have the misconception that the onset of fertility and pregnancy is delayed so that access to FP services, likewise, becomes delayed and resulted to unexpected pregnancies.

            Towards making quality Family Planning services more accessible and available, the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Office 3, in partnership with Dr. PJGMRMC, will conduct a TRAINING ON POSTPARTUM IUD INSERTION on August 29 to Sept. 1,2017 at Dr. PJGMRMC, Cabanatuan City. This aims to capacitate health service providers in delivering high-quality PPIUD services as part of comprehensive Post-Partum Family Planning program as an effective means in addressing women with unmet need.

With this regard, our Local Chief Executive, Honorable Mayor Ferdie V. Estrella, in realation to his advocacy to provide quality health services to all Baliwagenyo’s, Ms. Josephine Nicolas, one of our hard working midwives will be sent to attend the said training/ seminar to keep our Municipality up to date with vital information regarding the above mentioned subject.
