“Making Sound and Informed Career Choices through the K to 12 Honing 21st Century Skills of the Filipino Youth”

In line with the goal of the K to 12 Basic Education Program to produce grade 10 students who are ready for higher education, middle level skills development, employment and entrepreneurship, the Mariano Ponce National High School (MPNHS) facilitated the Career Week Celebration 2017 with the theme “Making Sound and Informed Career Choices through the K to 12: Honing 21st Century Skills of the Filipino Youth” last August 04, 2017 at the Mariano Ponce National High School covered court.

This activity featured a Career Parade: My Dream Job and Dream Job Tableau in the morning.  While an On the Spot Poster Making Contests and On the Spot Slogan Writing Contest were conducted in the afternoon.  Ms. Jennelyn G. Marcelo OIC – PESO Manager was invited by the administration of the MPNHS to give an inspirational message. She shared that one of the hardest and most exciting choices students will make is to decide on their career. She gave tips on how to choose the right strand as they embark to another milestone of their lives, the Senior High School.  Ms. Marcelo also discussed the different services that the students may avail at PESO Baliwag specifically the regular career guidance and the Special Program for Employment of Students. She wrapped up her talk with a very inspiring quotation from Nelson Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

PESO will go back to MPNHS to assist in the conduct of the Career Guidance in the coming months.  To all the Grade 10 students, we are always ready to give our assistance especially when it comes to your career decision making.  Good Luck Students!
