The Municipality of Baliwag stands proud to be chosen by the ADHD Society of the Philippines to be the host city and Co-Presentor of the National Congress for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD.

A recognized disability, ADHD is not very popular among teachers and practioners and the lack of understanding oftentimes lead to malpractice and myopic interventions. Akala malikot o sobrang galawgaw lang yung bata.

According to Wikipedia, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) is a mental disorder of theneurodevelopmental type.[7][8] It is characterized by problems paying attention, excessive activity, or difficulty controlling behavior which is not appropriate for a person’s age.[1][2] The symptoms appear before a person is twelve years old, are present for more than six months, and cause problems in at least two settings (such as school, home, or recreational activities).[3][9] In children, problems paying attention may result in poor school performance.[1] Although it causes impairment, particularly in modern society, many children with ADHD have a good attention span for tasks they find interesting.[10]

The congress hopes to orient daycare practitioners, parents, social workers, pwd’s and paychologists regarding proper behavior management of this disorder. The congress is scheduled on October 21.
