Weeks after the official opening of classes, Dean Carlo Clarin of the College of Business Administration and Information Technology Education (CABITE) announces that the official enrollment period for the first semester for academic year 2017-2018 for the Municipal Bridge Program is set on June 19-30 of the same year.
With the vision to give advancement to its employees, the Municipality of Baliwag in partnership with Baliwag Polytechnic College (BTECH) started the Municipal Bridge program on March of 2017. The aim of the project is to give opportunity to college undergraduate employees of the municipality who still aspires to finish a four year degree course. Mayor Ferdie extends his utmost support not only for the program itself but as well as to the employees of the municipality as he grants them with Mayors Academic Scholars (MACADS) that will give them free tuition fee as they enroll at the program.
The program started on a summer class where two major subjects in relation to Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management are thought every 5:30pm to 9:00 pm thrice a week, in a span of two months at the conference room of the Municipal Annex Building. The subjects, namely; Accounting for non accountants which was taught by Ms. Maribelle Mejala and Principles of Management taught by Mr. Bayani “Hero” Pascual were attended by 32 municipal employees including some from the Baliwag Water District. The perseverance of the students made them able to finish the two month night class wit favorable academic grades and notable comments from their professors.
The said program is a brainchild of the Municipal Administrator, Eric Tagle who advocates education opportunity for everyone. Atty. Robert Donesa –president of BTECH also attends the class as a normal student to ensure the quality of education taught by instructors in the Municipal Bridge Program. He also welcomes new students for the Municipal Bridge Program as he expects additional number of enrollees for the first semester.
