The Population Commission Region III and Department of Health Region III conducted a training on Peer Education on Adolescent Health and Development. Youth and student leaders/volunteers from Baliwag Bulacan, San Jose City, and Nueva Ecija attended the training held at Prime Asia Hotel, Balibago, Angeles City, Pampanga last May 24-26, 2017.
The said training aims to educate and motivate the youth and student leaders/volunteers on how to teach or share health information, values and behavior in educating others who may share similar social backgrounds or life experiences. Peer educator will be the one to help educate their peers (youth/adolescent) through their ideas and feelings.
Trainees learned a lot from the trainers who facilitated the training. They are back to their respective city/municipality with a lot to share with their organizations or offices. And are expected to make a difference in their respective teen centers, specifically GABAY Youth center here in Baliwag.
It must be stressed, however, that the exemption from taxes does not carry with it the exemption from payment of fees for regulation, inspection, surveillance and services rendered by the local government. This is for the reason that taxes are for revenue purposes while fees and charges are payment for expenses incurred to protect public interest and in furtherance of the general welfare clause mandated to us.
